The life of a talking cellphone

THE SECRET LIFE OF A TALKING CELL PHONE.

Hello. My name is Sprint BlackBerry Curve. But you can just call me BlackBerry. I have an interesting story to tell you about my life with my owner Shannon. She was a sweet girl but she could get a little on the mad side every once in a while. Mostly because of me. Because you have to admit, you would get mad a lot of you had to deal with a talking cell phone that has a mind of its own

I got my owner Shannon just a few weeks before her Senior year in High School started. She was a sweet girl with long brown hair. She had pretty blue eyes that you could just look into and get lost in them. She was a bit over weight but she had a sweet smile to cover it up. She loved me from the start but she thought I was just a normal phone. Little did she know I was listening in on her phone calls and reading her text messages all the time. I always loved deleting some of them just to mess with her. She did not think it was funny. She was going to send me back. I could NOT let that happen to me. So the day before school started, It came out. She was about to go to sleep and I said

“Hello Shannon”
“Who was that? Shannon asked very confused.
“It’s no other then your blackberry” I said
“Wait, there is no way that my cell phone is talking to me. I have to be dreaming” Shannon said as she rubbed her eyes and pinched herself.
“Nope. I’m the real deal. I’m the reason why your text messages are being deleted. You said you were going to take me back so I showed my secret to you.” I said smiling on the inside.
“This is going to be interesting. A talking BlackBerry. Only talk to me and were good. Get it?” She asked.
“Got it” I said back
“Good, now go to sleep. It’s the first day of school tomorrow”
Without another word, I got half way under the blanket and went to sleep. The next morning, she woke me up as she was ready to go to school. I was fully charged and ready to go. The school was big and there were so many people. Shannon said I can peek out of her pocket but to not draw attention to myself. I did as I was told. Then it was time for the first class. We walked into a math class. She sat down and started talking with some people. Then the class got silent. After ten minutes, I could not take it anymore and I screamed

“WOOT! FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! WHERE ARE MY SENIORS AT!!!!!!???????”
“SHUT UP!” Shannon hissed at me. Her face getting red. People thought it was just a guy outside so they just laughed and blew it off. Shannon asked to go to the bathroom and I knew I was in big trouble. When Shannon got to a small spot where no one could see her, she took me out and asked me

“WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT! I told you NOT to talk unless you were talking to me!”
Well, I’m sorry. It was WAY to quite in there. I just wanted to get people talking. I love to listen in on conversations. It’s what I do best.” I said with a teary look on my screen.
“Fine. I will let it go just once. Do it again and I’m turning you OFF during school.” Shannon said with her hand over her eyes.
“Deal” I said not being too happy about it. So I thought I would make her happy to have a talking cell phone. When the day ended and she was at home in her room, I said to her
“Shannon, you need to give your mom the papers and you have homework for your driver’s E.D. class.” I said.
“Oh yea. Your right. Thanks BlackBerry. Your like my personal agenda.
Personal agenda huh? That’s when I knew that Shannon needed me more then just a phone now. She was going to need me to know what she had to do if she forgot anything like homework and events.

Shannon got grounded a lot so she had me taken away from her. These were some of my hardest times because I could not talk. At all. The only thing I could to was surf the web to entertain myself but it was never good enough. After Shannon would get off grounding, she would tell me everything that happened while I was gone. We became very close friends. I reminded her of friends birthdays and projects she had due. I did get in trouble a lot for talking in class, and the times that her mom had to come get me from the schools office. She told my little secret to a few of her friends so there would not be any weirdness going on between them if I started talking out of term. This went on for five years. Then the day came that I did not want to happen.

“Hey BlackBerry, we are going to the park.” She said as she put me in her pocket as we walked over to the park.
We went over to the huge tree that was at the end of the park and she sat down, and held me in both hands. She looked so caring but concerned about something. Then the words I heard her say were enough to have me die right on the spot.
“BlackBerry, the past five years have been a lot of fun. You have been through all my ups and downs, lefts and rights, loop after loop, and my best friend. But my warranty is long over with. My parents are sick of me having an “old phone” that they are forcing me to get a new one.” She said still looking at me.
“But Shannon, We have been through so much together. They can’t just take us apart.” I said while my light got dimmer.
“I know BlackBerry, But I have held it in for too long. So many phones I have wanted but I wanted to keep you. When my parents ask me, I keep lying saying there is nothing out there that I like. But they found me researching another phone and they are getting it for me in a week.”
“So you mean that you have to get rid of me?” I asked knowing the answer.
“Yes. We have a week left together before I return you for the StrawBerry phone.”

That week felt so long and I was happy for that. I did not want to leave Shannon. But when the week ended, she said her final goodbye to me before her parents took her to the Sprint store to deactivate me. But my story does not end there. She took me back home, and she still used me for other things than a cell phone. We were still friends and I did not get her in trouble as often cause she did not take me everywhere. I got to see what the StrawBerry phone was like and it was almost like me. But she had a touch screen, worked like a real computer, which I only did some of the time, and had lot more games on it. But her mom found out that I was being kept and threw a fit at her. The next month, she took me to a place to get recycled. So this is where I am right now. So I asked the people at the recycling place not to crush me and start over. Because how can you kill a talking cell phone? So now I am one of the cool StrawBerry phones and I am now with you. Here’s to another five years Jessie.

“Trust me, I won’t trade you in for anything. You are the best phone ever!” Jessie said to me matter-of-factly.

“That’s what Shannon said too Jessie. That’s what Shannon said too. Now let’s go to sleep, I know you got me today but you have your first day of senior year tomorrow. And trust me, It’s going to be fun.”
