set me free

The chains are pulled tighter, its hard for me to breath
I try to pull away, I cant seem to break it free
I try to escape, with all of my might
he cant take me away without a good fight

Its hard to break the chains, they are leaving their mark
implanted in my skin, my mind, leaving me in the dark
I try to pull away, looking for a better day
but I come crashing to the ground, I can hear the demon say

"Don't try to escape,there's no way to break free
try all you want, but your stuck with me
all your doing is hurting yourself more
as you reach for hope,you come crashing to the floor"

I see a light, seems so far away
the demon drags me, leading me away
but I hear a voice saying "Set her free!
She no longer belongs to you, but to me!"

The demon shakes with fear as he drops my chain
he runs with fear as Jesus takes away my pain
He helps me up, and holds me in His arms
telling me He will keep me from harm.

I was first locked up, now I'm set free
from the awful demon who had his hold on me
it no longer has a place in my life
because now I walk with the one who is light.
